Hi Friends,
I am absolutely loving this warm spring weather. The sun is shining, I can hear the birds chirping and the breeze feels amazing! I’ve been thinking a lot lately about my future and career goals. I’m not going to get into the specifics now (that’s a post for another day!), but I do want to talk about the importance of setting ourselves up to succeed.
Think about your goals. What are you working incredibly hard for right now? Every hour spent studying and working the temporary job, is one step closer to your goal. It is easy to fall into a routine. Wake up, get ready, go to work or school, come home, go to bed. In that routine, our hopes and dreams can become something that we once thought about- something that we once strived for and wanted more than anything. Often times we fall into this routine and forget about the things that once made us feel alive and the things we wanted for ourselves.
People take jobs that they hate as a stepping stone. Yet more than often, twenty years down the road that same person is sitting behind their desk imagining a different job, daydreaming about a different reality and what could have been.
What I have learned is that it is okay to take the temporary jobs in order to achieve our dreams. As long as we stay true to ourselves and focus on taking the necessary steps to have our dreams come true.
I read somewhere (totally forget where. If I find the source, I will come back and link it.) that most people stray from their path because the are not intentional with what they want, nor do they create a plan as to how they can achieve their goals. The people who take the time to do this, proved to achieve their career and personal goals/ dreams. I don’t know about you, but I want to be one of those people who wakes up fifty years from now completely content with where I am in my personal and work life. I want to reach my goals.
This week’s challenge:
Set your intentions for this upcoming week. Take the time to make your dreams a reality! It is said that people who plan ahead, achieve their goals. Write them down in a notebook or type it them in a Google Document. Go as far as making a list or bullet points as to how you can achieve them and what you need to do. The point is to write (or type) them out, so you can see your goals and hold yourself accountable.
I love this post! Helped me to be more motivated and was such a nice reminder to that I need to keep planning ahead about my goal in life.
