Hockey fans team up with readers and best-selling authors to raise money for charities.
CHICAGO — Sound the sirens! BMG Sports will host Hockey Romance Lovers Group Night with the Chicago Wolves and The Last Chapter Book Shop on Saturday, February 27, 2027 at 3 p.m, in Rosemont at Allstate Arena.
Hockey Romance Lovers Group Night will celebrate the beloved book genre, support bestselling authors, a local hockey team and raise money for three charities.
A portion of all VIP and GA ticket sales will be donated to PAWS Illinois, Naolmi’s House and Stop Concussions.
Fans and readers alike can walk the event’s red carpet, meet participating authors and attend the author panel — plus, participate in other activations and photo opportunities.
“Many readers have taken an interest in hockey because of the sports romance genre’s increasing popularity and hockey romance adaptations,” Macaila Britton said.
Britton is the creator and producer behind the event. She said, “this is a great way to grow the game while providing a space for newer fans to learn the rules, ask questions and build community. Many new fans who got into hockey from reading, don’t have people to go to games with. This gives them an opportunity to come alone without feeling left out of the experience!”
Lexi LaFleur Brown and Jenny Proctor are two of the bestselling authors participating. The full lineup will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
“Uniquely, some of the authors write closed door hockey romance books,” Britton said. “These are great options for those looking for these stories without explicit romance scenes.”
The Last Chapter, Chicago’s first and only dedicated romance book shop, is the official bookstore partner for Hockey Romance Lovers Group Night The team will be on-site managing a pop-up, selling hockey romance books and supporting author relations.
The bookstore will also co-develop and manage the children’s area, creating an age-appropriate and family-friendly zone for young readers and hockey fans.
“We’re hosting the ultimate hockey romance pregame experience,” Owner Amanda Anderson said. “I’m most excited to bring readers together for a night that celebrates everything we love: romance, community and a little hockey!”
The event has two ticket tiers. General Admission (GA) and VIP. Both ticket types include access to the game, red carpet and author panel. This all leads to puck drop at 7 pm!
VIP ticket holders have the opportunity to meet the authors and participate in a post-game slap shot.
The Wolves are five-time league champions fresh off their run to the 2026 Calder Cup Finals. As the team prepares for its 33rd season, the franchise will feature a 72-game slate. The 2026-2027 Wolves schedule is full of intriguing matchups with 18 contests set to come against non-divisional opponents — including four showdowns with the Toronto Marlies in rematches of the Calder Cup Finals.

Last season, Britton provided post-game coverage during the Wolves’ 2026 Calder Cup Playoffs.

Tickets are now available for purchase. General admission tickets are $65 per person and VIP tickets are $99 per person. Fans are encouraged to purchase early as spots are limited.
