The Sustainable Markets Initiative (“SMI”) is His Majesty King Charles III’s gathering of a global ‘coalition of the willing’ who share the vision around the need to accelerate global progress toward a sustainable future. The Sustainable Markets Initiative was launched by His Majesty at The World Economic Forum 2020 Annual Meeting in Davos together with a 10-point action plan to kickstart bold and imaginative action across the next decade.

Macaila Britton signs contract with The Sustainable Markets Initiative and joins the team to continue His Majesty’s initiatives for a more sustainable future. The SMI is building a sustainable future through a new economic model.

In sustainable markets, the economy operates in favor of people and the planet while contributing to growth and prosperity. To achieve this, three major market transformations are needed:

  • A dramatic shift in corporate business models
  • An aligned, incentivized, and mobilized financial system
  • An enabling environment that attracts investment and incentivizes action
